Silver Foxed Is Out Now, and Apparently I Put My Marriage in a Book

Silver Foxed is officially out in the world.

Which means Auden and Wes are no longer mine to privately torment in childbirth classes. They belong to readers now, where they can make questionable decisions, exchange verbal foreplay, and generate enough tension to power a small coastal town.

Now... this one was ridiculously fun to write.

It has everything I love about Bay Breeze: family interference, workplace friction, grown-up characters with grown-up baggage, a heroine who has no intention of making her life more complicated, and a man who has decided complication is his love language.

There is also heat.

Obviously.

I do have a brand to maintain 💅🏼

Bad sex = no dice over here.

Life is too short for that nonsense.

This One Gets a Little Personal

For the first time, I wove a tiny bit of my husband and me into the story.

Not the actual plot, because we don't work together, I'm sadly not a billionaire, and I would also like to avoid answering several uncomfortable questions at family gatherings, but some of our personality dynamic sneaks in.

My husband is the wild-child Sagittarius. I am a Virgo to my core.

He sees a questionable idea and thinks, That could be fun. I see the same questionable idea and immediately begin calculating the risk, the travel time, and the cost.

There is plenty of that energy in Silver Foxed, albeit dialed up.

One person leans into chaos. The other person stands nearby with a clipboard and an expression that says, I knew this would happen.

Romance, basically.

Is This the End of Bay Breeze?

Probably.

I know, I know. “Probably” is a dangerous word for an author to use. It leaves an unlocked window through which another character can crawl at three in the morning and demand a book.

But as of right now, Silver Foxed is likely closing out the main Bay Breeze series.

I've loved spending time in this town. I've loved these families, their messes, their meddling, and their complete inability to mind their own business. Bay Breeze has given me some of my favorite characters to write, and closing this chapter feels a little like moving out of a house where the neighbors are loud AF and nosy but always bring wine.

That said, we are not vanishing from Bay Breeze without a few final treats.

Blue Balled and The Love Muscle are coming as novellas. The plan is to send them to newsletter readers first as freebies before they eventually go live for everyone else.

Every book brings its own flavor of chaos, but you can generally expect heat, humor, emotional baggage, and at least one person making a decision they will absolutely regret before it somehow leads to true love.

So, What Comes Next for KB?

Excellent question.

I have no idea.

That sounds less reassuring when I type it out, but it's the truth.

I've always loved writing under this pen name. KB was the first pen name I published under, way back in 2019. After writing fanfics for years about my favorite teenage band, no less. There's some cursed KB lore 🤣

KB gives me room to be funny, filthy, heartfelt, and a little unhinged in exactly the right proportions. These books are a joy to write, even when the characters refuse to cooperate and the plot develops the structural integrity of wet cardboard that I have to reinforce over and over and over.

I do write under a few other pen names, though, and my current calendar includes two non-KB releases over the next two months. If you're a longtime newsletter follower, you know that 😏 I keep those pen names separate because each has its own audience and its own little corner of my writing life.

So KB is not disappearing. She is simply relaxing in my hammock, staring up at the sky, waiting for inspiration to reveal itself in the clouds.

There are several projects quietly taking shape.

Most hilariously, I've been chipping away at a divorce romcom.

It's messy, funny, grown-up, and still very much in the “let me poke this with a stick and see whether it moves” stage. I don't have a release date in mind, and I'm not putting one on the calendar yet. The next few months are already crowded, and Future Me deserves at least the illusion that I respect her limits.

But the projects exist. They're simmering.

And eventually, they may become someone’s next favorite KB adventure.

For now, though, it is Auden and Wes’s turn.
